"Affordable" in Red Hook?

Yes, condos in the Imlay Street New York Dock building are hitting the market already, despite a projected 2016 completion date.  You can buy a one-bedroom loft (3,429 square feet) for the strangely precise sum of $3,857,325.

Hopefully the luxury rehab center ($50,000 per month, anyone?) and the delayed-opening private school ("The Best Schools in America Have Arrived in Brooklyn") will be up and running by then.  The wine shops and boutiques along Van Brunt are already coming along quite nicely.

Last year, Massimiliano Senise, a partner with Est4te Four, told DNAinfo New York that he planned to draw local artists, musicians and models to the neighborhood with “affordable” studios and apartments ... Douglas Elliman real estate agent Patty LaRocco declined to comment on the story.
