New Ceramics Studio Opening this Fall

Signs are up for Bklyn Clay, a new ceramics studio for novice and professional alike, coming to 20th and Fifth in September.  According to its website, Bklyn Clay is the first studio in Brooklyn to offer a community gas kiln. Classes are available for both adults and children, and the children's classes will include sessions for special-needs students.  The studio will also offer open kiln hours for independent clay workers, with members paying a monthly fee for 24-hour access to all facilities. This looks like a great new art space in the area - it'd be wonderful if they could find a way to offer subsidized classes for some of the many neighborhood kids from lower income families too. More info here.
