Arrested Development

I saw an ad in a local real estate office.

There's no address given, but with the PS 39 zone mentioned in the ad, I figured it couldn't be too hard to find. Actually it's not in the "highly coveted" 39 zone at all. But really, who cares for details? 383 12th Street is between Sixth & Seventh, and the block, which was until recently in the 107 zone, is now zoned for PS 10.  This is one of those buildings sites where work has staggered along for years, and then grinds to a halt.  383 currently has 25 open ECB violations, nine of them related to work without a permit. You can check out the work history here - there's a lot to take in.  I suspect we're likely to see more of these development ditches in 2017.

Here's the previous house at the site.
