The Blue Gorilla of NY Auction

The blue gorilla has been a part of the Gowanus/ South Slope landscape for as long as I've lived in Brooklyn. You can see him, far in the distance, from the F train, as it crosses the Culver Viaduct. He faces the Gowanus Expressway, and lives in the NY Auction auto business at 16th & Hamilton. A couple of years ago he deflated, and I missed him a lot, but he made a comeback. I'd never actually got to see him up close, so today it was time to get down to Hamilton and meet the great ape himself.  He's not very far from where I live, so I had yet another of those "Why didn't I get my lazy ass over here before?" conversations with myself.  Nice to remedy this one, at least.

That's really cool and I'm glad you finally got there!
