Convicted

Thomas Prusik-Parkin, who dressed as his dead mother for six years in order to collect her social security payments and regain possession of his family home, was convicted on eleven counts today, and could receive a sentence of up to 83 years.  Prusik-Parkin had refused a plea bargain, and served three years in jail before going to trial.  Had he accepted a deal he would have been free by now.

Jurors, who appeared amused at points during the trial, took less than a day to convict Prusik Parkin. They placed a smiley face on the note announcing their verdict.  (NY Daily News)
