Back to Work

It's the time of the year to get up early & hit the platform of the Fourth Avenue station again. Though reluctant to settle back into that old routine, I am, at heart, a happy subway rider, and the early morning Culver views are a fine way to start the journey. I love the Fourth station, and its seemingly endless renovation project leaves me bemused rather than annoyed. Back in the spring we were given the latest rather rosy projection of its completion - May of this year - but summer passed in a sticky blur and no end to the work seems to be in sight. The hole in the roof on the Queens bound platform - present since the roof replaced an old one years back - still lets in a piece of the sky, and the fuzzy LCD signs more inclined to induce migraines than mark the hour.  It avails not, MTA.  This rider is in no hurry.

No discernible traces of renovation at the west entrance. Fix the leaks, bring back the newsstand, and the old deco signs and let's just leave it at that.
