Like New York, Manchester has a homeless epidemic. There are panhandlers (US) and rough sleepers (UK) all over the city - on pavements, benches, canal banks and building sites. At the Opera House, underneath signs for Cinderella (My First Ballet) a pair of men are camping out in sleeping bags.
