243 44th

I was happy to come across this building, close to Second. It's home to The Tie King Corp, Manufacturer ... of Neckwear. A great company name, with the ellipsis adding an unintentional layer of ambiguity.  The Seaberg Elevator Company brought their business here in 1939.  Tie King (Jimmy Sales Corp.) appears to have been in business since the 50s, making Mens' & Boys' neckties and bowties (vintage, formal, dress: white tie, silk).  I'm not sure how long they've been at this particular address.

"Sunset Park is clearly, in my opinion, the next big thing," Mr. King said. "This won't happen overnight, but in five years you won't recognize that area." - Timothy King, Managing Partner at CPEX Real Estate Services. (Crains)

Thanks. Ugh - this stuff is on every block. IMBY is far better at documenting the construction debacles around here than I am, but I try to mention a few of these sites. The sheer volume of stop orders/ damage etc etc is staggering, but work continues as ever. Unbelievable.
