Along the Contiguous Boulevard

I walked past the stalled KFC development site on Fourth, and looked up at the NYC/Jay-Z  "Brooklyn, We Go Hard" banner (sponsor, TERRACRC Realty - several choice avenue listings currently available).  Into my mind popped Marty's 2010 Vision Plan for Fourth.  Lots of jolly Funderpass lingo, & banner-specific:

Placemaking and wayfinding are necessary to transform Fourth Avenue into Brooklyn Boulevard.
Brooklyn Boulevard will be defined by a distinct scale and scope, facilitated through visual landmarks and a connected corridor. Place and identity are created by the production of formal and informal experiences that occur on the Avenue... Successful placemaking will connect the neighborhoods of Fourth Avenue into one contiguous boulevard. Wayfinding tools such as information kiosks, improved signage, and street installations will convey the Brooklyn Boulevard identity and help the (sic) understand space... For example, banners reinforce the connectivity of the Boulevard's design elements and provide safety amenities for pedestrians and drivers...
