Chai Lifeline in Israel Looking a Little Dodgy?

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, in a rather clumsy way, the new vintage shop, Life Emporium, on Fifth Avenue and 13th Street, is a not-for-profit venture supporting the pediatric cancer charity Chai Lifeline.  The American branches of this charity appear to do sterling work.  In Israel however, it seems like a different story. Kolbotek, the veteran investigative news show, recently ran a story on alleged check fraud at the Israeli branch, Chai Lifeline/Chaiyanu.  According to Kolbotek, checks written in America, intended for Israeli cancer victims, were instead cashed at a currency exchange and ended up in the pockets of Chaiyanu staff.
